Weight Watchers Friendly Wings Recipe

When the husband wanted some wings to snack on, while he watched the Super Bowl, we knew we were in for a struggle. Both being on Weight Watchers, we searched the app for point values and were applled at the results. Four points for ONE wing?! Not today, Satan!

We’re both obsessed with the Boneless Firecracker Wings from Yard House, so we searched the internet high and low for copycat recipe inspiration and decided to give it a go, with our own modified skinny version of the delicious app.

For the record, these are no actual “wings” but rather boneless chicken breast, glazed in a low fat firecracker sauce. They’re certainly not the same as the real deal, but they’re definitely a darn close second! Give the recipe a try and see for yourself! Serve with celery as an appetizer or throw it on top of some rice and make a meal of it!

  • 2 lbs. boneless, skinless chicken breast
  • 2 tbsp. unsalted Smart Balance butter, melted
  • 1 tbsp. vegetable oil
  • 1 tsp. garlic powder
  • ½ tsp. paprika
  • ½ tsp. salt
  • ¼ tsp. ground black pepper


  • 3 tbsp. smart balance butter
  • 1 tbsp. all-purpose flour
  • 1/8 c. honey
  • 1/8 c. artificial sweetener
  • 1/4 c. Sriracha
  • 1 tsp. buffalo sauce
  • 1 tbsp. soy sauce
  • Lime juice to taste
  • Water if needed for consistency


  • 1 tbsp. chopped fresh cilantro
  • 1 tsp. sesame seeds
  • ⅛ tsp. red chili flakes


Preheat oven to 400 degrees F.

Line a baking sheet with foil, place a wire rack over top. Spray the rack with nonstick baking spray.

Cut up chicken breast into smaller, evenly sized chunks.

In a medium size mixing bowl toss the chicken with the melted butter, oil, garlic powder, paprika, salt and pepper.

Place in on the wire rack and bake for 20-25 minutes or until crispy.

Meanwhile, to make the glaze, in a small saucepan set over medium heat, add the butter. When the butter has melted, whisk in flour and cook until lightly golden brown, about 1 minute. Stir in the honey, Sriracha, buffalo sauce, soy sauce and lime juice. Simmer until it thickens, about 2 minutes.

Remove the wings from the oven and transfer to a plate. Brush the wings with the sauce. Remove the foil and place a piece of parchment paper over top of the baking sheet. Place the chicken on the parchment and broil for about 4 minutes or until crisp and crusted. If you have an air fryer, you could also pop them in there for a crisper finish.

Remove from the oven and garnished with any combination of cilantro, sesame seeds, and/or chili flakes.


WARNING: These bad boys have a serious kick, so make sure you’ve got a drink nearby!
