LAS VEGAS — Lady Gaga is heading to Las Vegas for a residency show. Mother Monster confirmed the news across her social media platforms Tuesday.
“The rumors are true! I will have my own residency at MGM’s Park Theater. Get ready for a brand new show!! It’s been my lifelong dream to be a Las Vegas girl, I’m so overjoyed! LOVE YOU LITTLE MONSTERS WE DID IT, MEET ME IN Las Vegas!!”
“This is just the beginning of a new era!” she captioned an Instagram post celebrating the news.
The Las Vegas Review-Journal reported that Gaga will perform for 36 dates at Park Theater at Park MGM. She is expected to earn $400,000 for each performance, or $15 million over the course of the residency. Rumors of the residency have been around for about a year and a half.
“It’s the land of Elvis, Tony Bennett and Frank Sinatra, the Rat Pack, Elton John, Judy Garland and Liza Minnelli. It has been a life-long dream of mine to play Las Vegas,” Gaga said in a news release. “I am humbled to be a part of a historical line-up of performers, and to have the honor of creating a new show unlike anything Vegas has ever seen before. I’ll tell you exactly what I told my MGM and Park Theater partners – you can count on this performer always for one thing…I’ll leave my heart on the stage every single night. Thank you to my fans for always believing in me. Meet me in Las Vegas baby, we did it!”
Gaga’s residency at MGM’s Park Theater in the Monte Carlo Hotel and Casino in Vegas puts her in the company of Cher and Bruno Mars, who also have shows at the venue.
The singer is the latest musician to have a Las Vegas residency. Celine Dion, Britney Spears, Mariah Carey and Jennifer Lopez are among stars who had or have residency shows in the city.
Gaga’s residency will start in December 2018. The Las Vegas Review Journal reported that the residency runs for a year through 2019 and may extend into 2020, according to unnamed sources familiar with the agreement.
Before the residency, Gaga will wrap up her Joanne World Tour, which has dates across Europe in January and February.
