These days, it seems like everyone with a camera thinks they’re a professional photographer.
Sometimes it’s a harmless foodie with an iPhone and an Instagram account.
But other times, it’s someone with a hobby and enough cash to buy a DSLR that tries takes on more than they’re qualified to do, like take professional quality photos of paying customers.
That’s exactly what happened to mother and wife, Pam Zaring, who paid a “professional” photographer $250 for family photos. After nearly a year of fighting to receive the photos that were taken of her and her family, Pam finally received the final… erm… retouched photos.
Like we all do, she immediately took to Facebook to share her new photos, but probably not in the way she had expected.
Brace yourselves, as these photos are both hilarious and… somewhat creepy:
Ok. This is NOT a joke. We paid a photographer, who claimed to be a professional, $2-250 for a family photo shoot. …
The photographer, presumably named Lesa Hall, per the watermark, told Pam that there were shadows on the family’s faces and that she had not been taught how to retouch photos.
While these horrifying images seem as though they can’t possibly be real, Pam has assured that these are completely real and not a joke.
Pam later stated that the photographer was in her 60s, so this perhaps can be explained by a lack of tech skills. Nevertheless, the photographer did claim to be a professional photographer, despite her evident lack of editing knowledge and abilities.
Despite paying for a product that turned out to be less than quality work, to say the least, Pam has maintained a positive attitude about the situation. Aside from a good laugh, she has also risen to viral internet fame, with the post having already been shared well over 350,000 times and being featured on multiple news sites.
The lesson here is clear: Always ask to see a portfolio before hiring a photographer. Unless, of course, you’re looking for content for a viral social media post!
